Our Story

The company was founded in 2002, so we have been operating in the market for over two decades.

Throughout our history, we had the opportunity to help several Brazilian companies to expand their international presence, operating in markets such as Germany, Argentina, Australia, Canada, Chile, South Korea, Slovenia, the United States, France, Hungary, Italy, Japan, Portugal, United Kingdom, among others.

In parallel, we also work with several foreign companies whose objective is to enter the Brazilian market. In this type of project, over the years, we have worked with clients from Germany, Argentina, Bulgaria, China, South Korea, the United States, Italy, Japan, Portugal, the United Kingdom, and Singapore, among others.

We have worked with a wide range of products and services, and each project brought valuable lessons, which we always seek to incorporate into our day-to-day practices.

One of the critical lessons we’ve learned over the years is that one of the biggest differentiators between successful projects and those that fail is the preparation. It is of utmost importance to understand the peculiarities of the target market, to avoid efforts in the wrong direction and to obtain a clear understanding of where the best potential is.

Suriana was founded by Rodrigo Scaff.

Rodrigo holds a law degree from the University of São Paulo and obtained his master’s in business administration (MBA) from Columbia University in New York.

Before founding Suriana, Rodrigo had the opportunity to work in different sectors, including financial services, non-governmental organizations and media.

With his international work experiences, Rodrigo saw opportunities to work in sectors that were still served informally. In Brazil, for example, many companies aim to expand their activities abroad but have no idea what steps to take to start the process.Quite often, due to the lack of proper guidance, they make irrational investments, which leads to frustrated results and wasted resources.

It also became clear to Rodrigo that many foreign companies give up operating in Brazil due to fears related to the country’s tax rules, excessive bureaucracy and the lack of predictability in the business environment. And such companies could change their minds if they felt supported by a reliable partner.

Given the above scenario, the idea arose to create a company that would facilitate international expansion processes and help make projects viable in rational way. This is Suriana.

Suriana is present in São Paulo (Brazil) and London (United Kingdom).

That allows us to serve our customers more dynamically, enjoying better access to several global markets and directly contacting partners in Europe.

London also gives us quick access to companies and investors from all over the world, as the city is the a business center in Europe and one of the main ones in the world.

The fact that we have a presence in Brazil and the United Kingdom allows us to work in a coordinated and more productive way across different international markets, including with regard to Asian countries, where the difference in time zones is more intense.
